Horrible Music Wiki, formerly known as Horrible Music and Songs Wiki is a reception wiki focusing on critically panned songs, albums, and artists. It was possibly founded by LambdaLegend on August 29, 2017.[1] On September 23, 2018, a Miraheze version was created by CHICHI7YT. Currently, the bureaucrats of the wiki are FullInterTurn and HarmonTower805.
Why It's Horrible
- For starters, a majority of the songs listed on the wiki were based on the reviews from several music sites despite the fact that they have a decent reception on YouTube, such as Despacito.
- They forbade Michael Trapson from having a page on the wiki only because he paid respects to Michael Jackson. Yes, Michael Jackson is a good singer and is not guilty of pedophilia allegations, but that doesn't make tribute artists who pay respects to him necessarily good.
- Just like the Atrocious YouTubers Wiki, the wiki is borderline anti-NSFW, such as the fact that they list mild swearing or anything sexual that is mild as a bad quality.
- There are several categories on the wiki that make no sense or are mostly popular opinion-based, such as "Annoying songs", "Songs that don't even qualify as songs", and "Repetitive songs".
- Much like the Excellent Music Wiki, some of the pointers on some pages make no sense or are too short, albeit there are thankfully several of them being removed.[2]
Redeeming Qualities
- There were several helpful pages and pages about artists, songs or albums that are actually bad, such as 6ix9ine[3].
- Despite the fact that they list any form of swearing as a bad quality, their listing of slurs such as the n-word and r-word as a bad quality is good for obvious reasons.
- Their listing of porn/nudity/sex as bad qualities is also good, considering that there are obviously a bunch of people who listen to music that are under the age of 18.
