Qualitipedia was a network of 8 reception wikis that criticized or praised various forms of media. Although it had a decent reputation back when it was on FANDOM, but ever since it was moved to Miraheze, it became one of the most hated networks ever because of various problems such as toxic community, invalid pointers. This page focuses on several events Qualitipedia suffered since 2020 and the problems that surround to this day, even after it was shut down.

The Outcast Network's takeover of Qualitipedia

When the wikis were moved to Miraheze, a group called The Outcast Network decided to take over them, and in the meantime, they decided to move their wikis on Miraheze, such as Atrocious YouTubers Wiki, Unfavourable Users and Wikis Wiki, Horrible Vyonders Wiki and so on. This is one of Qualitipedia's Achille's heels.

Harassment of Zenko and refusal of support

The Great Purge

In 2021, Allistayrian, one of the former admins of Qualitipedia, wanted to make the wikis more serious, more like a business than something for fun, so, he decided to do what it's called The Great Purge. Basically, it was when the entire network had its pages purged entirely. This idea alone was negatively received and caused multiple users to retire. This also caused Allistayrian to resign because of the enormous backlash he received until he returned once again as an admin. This event was a sign that Qualitipedia was going to seal its fate.

Zangler's failed RfC to remove company pages and the Moderation extension

On August 2022, Zangler, one of the former bureaucrats of the network, created an RfC to forbid the company pages from the wikis. Said RfC gave plausible reasons such as these pages violate the Content Policy (because most of them lack any sources) and basically repeat the issue of criticizing people. Despite that, most people decided to oppose the RfC and was closed as unsuccesful. However, in the meantime, Zangler, once they got promoted as a bureaucrat, decided to delete some pages that they consider "unsubstantiated and unsourced", most notably the Mattel page from Terrible TV Shows Wiki and the Disney page from Awful Movies Wiki (the latter was restored by CJWorldGame32125, a notable Disney hater, with sources). It does not help the fact that to prevent vandalism, one of the admins on Greatest Movies Wiki just implemented the Moderation extension, an extension that when you make an edit as a either confirmed or non-confirmed user, an admin must confirm if it should be allowed or not, even if it's for fake movies. This caused a lot of backlash and some admins like DarkMatterMan4500 (the leader of Qualitipedia) lost interest. The failure of the RfC and the moderation extension was a big red flag that Qualitipedia was starting to seal its fate.

TigerBlazer's Retirement on Discord

On August 2022, in the Discord server, a massive bombshell arrived. Bukkit, one of the bureaucrats of the network, decided to make a bot called MidBot just for laughs and gags but they lost control and then loads of nonsensical and extremely obnoxious jokes happened. Because of that, TigerBlazer (a former admin of Qualitipedia and even though she announced her retirement on April before making a full retirement blog when the RfC to close QP was open) announced that she would retire from Discord. Ever since that happened, other admins, such as Mr. Dready, Stephenfisher2001 and raidarr left the network because of lack of interest. This prevents from the network of having better admins, as ever since that happened, damage control happened and the new moderators prior to its shut down were incompetent and did nothing to save Qualitipedia, but sends up the biggest red flag that Qualitipedia wasn't going to survive for that long.

The RfC to shut down Qualitipedia

On August 31st, 2022, in the Qualitipedia Meta, an RfC arrived. This RfC asked users if they should support the closure of Qualitipedia or not. Reasons include the failed attempts at improvement, toxic community, the poor execution of its concept and so on. At first, users were mixed but as time went on, lots of users would go on and support the closure until it was closed as succesful by Miraheze steward Agent Isai. However, some events during the RfC happened.

BlubaBluba9990's return

When the RfC was still open, BlubaBluba9990 returned after a long silence. At first, he immediately voted to oppose the RfC. However, he immediately exposed himself as a person who's obsessed to Qualitipedia and Miraheze and he claimed that every time he thinks of a hexagon, he thinks of Miraheze. This alone worried a lot of users and called out Bluba for his unhealthy addiction to Qualitipedia. Despite that, Bluba would act incredibly childlish and label whoever supported the RfC as "Anti-Quals" and once attempted to vote brigade by saying people that they should oppose the RfC, which of course caused him to get banned until he got unbanned after one day. This alone caused the RfC to get even more support.

Banning of BlubaBluba9990

Due to several comments from Bluba, in a private community vote, Bluba was indefinitely banned on all Qualitipedia wikis. However, Bukkit later unblocked him, saying "The situation was handled poorly". However, a hot minute later, Bluba was blocked again by Bukkit, this time for good.

Return of retired users

About halfway through the RfC, several retired users came back to vote on the RfC, most in support, save for ThePCGamer, who strongly opposed the RfC. Some of these people include the following.

  • DuchessTheSponge
  • Grust (under the username ElementalHeroes)
  • Allistayran

Demotion of SuperStreetKombat

Around early September 2022, a few users on the Games Wikis requested to be promoted to moderators, and SuperStreetKombat gave them those promotions, much to their delight. However, one week later, Blazikeye535 revoked those users' rights because they were "promoted without consensus", despite the fact that there actually was one due to those users asking for mod rights, and the other admins decided to have an arbitrarily private conversation on Discord where Blazikeye created a poll to demote SuperStreet's status for very minor inconveniences, which he had no idea about due to not having a Discord account, and Bukkit and Marxo Grouch decided to outright relieve SSK of his administration on every single Reception Wiki he was ever an admin on without so much as a warning beforehand [1], in which SSK called out Bukkit for and a few other users harshly berrated him over the very simple mistakes he made. Street then created an RfC to re-promote him to an administrator, which partially succeeded, as he is promoted to at least a moderator, resolving the conflict between him and the admins.

Various attempts at reboots

After Qualitipedia's closure, there have been various attempts at a reboot, with varying levels of success.

Money12123's New Reception Wikis

Money started a new reception wiki on Miraheze. The first page was about Duchessthesponge's DeviantArt rant about the reception wikis. The page received massive backlash from several (ex-)reception wiki users, notably TigerBlazer, who was extremely critical of it.

Closure

After Nidoking became an administrator, he imported several pages from various Qualitipedia Wikis. Szczypak2005 also requested several pages be imported into The New Reception Wiki, which was ultimately declined by Agent Isai.[2] Agent Isai had also warned the community about this, and said warnings were not heeded. After about a week, Reception123 closed the wiki.[3] The wiki was ultimately unsuccessful.

Fred's reboot

A user named Fred had created a self-hosted reboot. The reboot had suspicion from several users who were mainly concerned about the free access to CheckUser by the main hoster, Fred.

Fate

Fred attempted to add CentralAuth, and then went silent. Eventually, the wikis were blanked and Cloudflare now throws an error if you visit the site. Many gave up on the reboot after that, although some are a bit more hopeful.

CJWorldGame32125's reboot

CJWorldGame32125 has requested a wiki on the wiki-hosting service Whiki. Original Authority approved the wiki. Its ultimate fate is unknown.
