If you've read this page in which I discussed creating a sister wiki for Tiresome Wikis Wiki, you probably know what this page will be about. On that page, I discussed three possible wiki farms for the sister wiki: Fandom, Miraheze, and ShoutWiki. After that post was created, several things happened:

  1. On Miraheze, an RfC passed that banned the creation of new reception wikis, so Miraheze is out for the time being.
  2. MediaWiki 1.39 was released, so we might have to wait even longer for ShoutWiki's wiki creation tool to start working again.
  3. A fourth wiki farm, EditThis.info, finally fixed its account creator, so I was able to create an account there. Its account creator being broken was the only reason (apart from it running an ancient MediaWiki version) that it was not considered a hosting option in the original page.

Anyway, I've gone ahead and created Creative Wikis Wiki on EditThis.info. The plan is that Creative Wikis Wiki will be on EditThis.info temporarily until ShoutWiki's wiki creator starts working again. When Creative Wikis Wiki is successfully imported to ShoutWiki, the EditThis.info version will be archived.

Things to note when contributing to Creative Wikis Wiki:

  • EditThis.info is running MediaWiki 1.15, so the editing interface on Creative Wikis Wiki is a little outdated. However, most of the features in newer MediaWiki versions should be there.
  • Image uploads appear to be disabled. It looks like there's no way to turn it on, sorry!
  • CSS styling appears to be broken, so Creative Wikis Wiki uses the default Monobook skin with no changes.
  • EditThis.info is full of ads, so an adblocker is recommended.

Gosh that's is a bad choice of host. DragonBreath (talk) 14:33, 4 December 2022 (UTC)
I wish I'd done a little more research into it before I picked it. Still, it's the best we can do, with Fandom shutting down any reception wikis and Miraheze recently banning the creation of new reception wikis. At least EditThis.info as a host is temporary, as the plan above explains. Tali64^2 (talk) 16:03, 4 December 2022 (UTC)
