Salarvander! Where have you been?
Hey, Salar, where were you? Are you okay? You were gone from the internet for an entire year and I'm not sure if you know this, but after you left Weirdcyclopedia on ShoutWiki, the whole wiki continued to collapse thanks to frequent vandalism caused by a mysterious IP user, edit warring and harassment by Leerdoman74, and a myriad of spam bots that created off-topic pages and none of those issues were ever dealt with so the staff closed the wiki on this very site on June 2023. I even tried to stop those horrible users from harming the wiki and I even attempted to adopt it, but all of my efforts in doing so failed thanks to Leerdo who made one of the ShoutWiki staff members hate me.
The good news, however, is that after your wiki was shut down here, I recreated it from scratch on Miraheze and things are looking pretty good for it there so far, because the quality control is better than ever, an admin is trying yo preserve some of the pages that were on the ShoutWiki version, and Leerdo was actually punished for everything he did back when it was on ShoutWiki. The vandal who started its descent is still on the loose, though. Here's the link to the new and improved version of Weirdcyclopedia so you can see how much better things have gotten since it was moved there: https://weirdcyclopedia.miraheze.org/wiki/Weirdcyclopedia
Also, one more thing: can you please explain why you left the ShoutWiki version of Weirdcyclopedia back in January of 2023 and why you didn't do anything to stop the chaos that endured there during your absence? Sorry if this is a bit harsh, but while you were gone, I went through so much suffering because of all those horrible IP users who were destroying your wiki and no one else, not even the ShoutWiki staff, even attempted to stop them, and I kinda wanna know why you left. --SuperStreetKombat (talk) 02:04, 1 January 2025 (UTC)
To clarify, yes I am okay, in fact I actually graduated from college. But I only intended to take short breaks from my personal wiki, and unfortunately, a bunch of vandals just wrecked my wiki. The recreated website sounds really neat, but I remember there being a few more articles on the ShoutWiki version before it collapsed. When I was gone, I had tried to set up a Newgrounds account and unfortunately, nobody noticed. I only posted a few artworks on DeviantArt under a different username. I had some busy things to do in college as I assumed the wiki was safe, but I was wrong. By the time I tried to visit my wiki again, it's too late. If only I had been there doing my job and not being lazy to stop the vandals when I had the chance. When I was taking a break, I was playing some Nintendo 64/PlayStation 1/PlayStation 2/Nintendo Switch/PlayStation 5 games and watching Youtube videos like some Jungle Video Game music and gameplay videos to make me forget that Leirdo and the other vandals even touched my site. But, considering there's broken promises on the old site I never managed to fulfill, looks like I failed them. And now, I am just going to stand here and think about how could I have not been lazy to stop the vandals. If I had been there to stop the drama, my satirical wiki would have had a mascot and a logo. Maybe more longer pages and ambitious articles? I am now just going to think of what to do next because of regret and failure to salvage my wiki from being lost... (I wonder if any backup to my deleted wiki still exists out there or its gone?) --Salarvander (Salarvander) 05:38, 1 January 2025 (UTC)
- Well, I'm glad you're doing all right with yourself and congratulations on your graduation from college. However, with all due respect, while I do understand why you were gone for long on ShoutWiki, you really could've been a lot more communicative with the users who were still active on your wiki, even when it was falling, like, you could've made an announcement saying you were gonna be gone and then promoted someone like me or Blad to an admin or a mod so that way, the destruction of Weirdcyclopedia could've been avoided and Leerdoman74 and the other bad IP users could've been blocked indefinitely. Not to mention that even after you left, there were still some users like me who tried to help the wiki recover and fend off against bullies, vandals, and spam bots. Also, if you truly do regret not saving the ShoutWiki version of Weirdcyclopedia, then perhaps you can come to the Miraheze version and to help you make up for your mistakes, you could be promoted to an admin or even a mod on there so that you can actually do what you wanted to do when it was still on ShoutWiki. Like I said, an admin on the Miraheze version of your wiki is still trying to backup some of the pages that were on ShoutWiki's Weirdcyclopedia, and that admin's username is WyndyCyan. You can always ask her if she could salvage the pages that were deleted along with the wiki. --SuperStreetKombat (talk) 06:16, 1 January 2025 (UTC)
